8th April 2012 - Scratchin' the Admiral - long term fans will recall those heady nights at the Admiral Duncan. We never had a night there that was not superb with a great crowd who were buzzing for a great night out. The band, who used to play the venue every 6 weeks, never failed to deliver and as Mick McGinley would say " THE CROWD WENT WILD", every time. Martin Tagg, the Drummer had his 50th birthday while the band played there and, 'what a coincidence', will celebrate his 61st there on 28th April. We invite all those who can be there, to attend and 'let the good times roll',
30th January - An excellent evening was had last Saturday at Crigglestone Working Men's Club. As always, the crowd were attentive end enjoyed themselves. The band were on form and the lady chairperson did a sterling job while filling in for the regular chairman who was recovering from a bout of sickness.
27 January - Progress - after the first few gigs, everything is settling in and the band are relaxing a bit more after much rehearsal following Steve's reprise. Lots of new songs are planned over the next few months and Greg has purchased a superb new 'Yamaha' Electro Acoustic guitar for 'off stage' use.
Get the Greg's - Guitar licks, not pasties !!!!!!!!!
Those who have seen the band in recent times will have heard the 'Greg' sound mix. As the saying goes 'Get the Gregs'. We pride ourselves on the vocals being clear and audible, unlke many bands. What many may not now is that Greg is a fine guitar player (he was the first ScratchBand lead guitarist) and we intend to do something completely unique and get Greg to play some guitar from the mixer position. This will be introduced in early 2012 and will enhance the band's musical ability and of course, will make the band once more a 'five piece'.
25th November 2011 - Goodbye Mike - Welcome Steve
Those who read this page regularly will be aware of Mick Lynskey's departure from the band and Steve's return. The first gig with Steve will be at the Royal Oak, Owl Lane, Ossett on 17 December.
There will be some of the old songs re-vamped, some of the old 'Steve' songs and some songs that are new (well... they are not exactly new songs but will be new to the ScratchBand.
Note the new way of spelling the band's name with a middle capital letter - ScratchBand. As we update the website over the next few months, this will be adopted. It will take time to update and replace posters and photos. In the meantime if you have any enquiries about the ScratchBand please email me at martin_tagg@yahoo.co.uk or ring me on 01924 332145.
11 December 2011 - Last night we played Mike Lynskey's last night at Joanne's (Stewart's daughter) 40th Birthday party, held at the Dimple Wells Hotel, Ossett. We had an 'never before in the band's history' event when Mick Larrad had to go 'off- stage', after the third song, to move his car. We featured both the 'departing' and the 're-joining' guitarists during the set. Incidentally, the Indian food was excellent.
